This course is designed to teach you the skills, and give you the confidence to manage serious emergency and medical events, where some equipment is available but help is 4 to 5 days away. The course is suitable for those travelling offshore. Students on this course learn how to manage a trauma casualty or a medical patient onboard for up to 5 days, using as a minimum a Category 1 medical kit.

A current Coastal Medic course; completed within the previous 4 months. Completion of an STCW95 Elementary Course undertaken with Yacht Lifeline through the NZ Maritime School is also acceptable.
